Uasin Gishu Gubernatorial Aspirant on a UDA party ticket Jonathan Bii alias Koti Moja has been cleared by IEBC to run for the gubernatorial seat.
Chelilim was accompanied by thousands of his supporters who brought the business in Eldoret town to a standstill
Speaking to the press after he was cleared said he will conduct peaceful elections during and after the August polls.
“I am grateful that today I had a date with the IEBC where I represented by papers and that of my deputy and we are glad that we were cleared,” said the Uasin Gishu Gubernatorial Aspirant on a UDA party ticket.
He assured residents of peaceful campaigns before, during, and after the August polls.
“I want to assure members of Uasin Gishu that we are going to have a very peaceful campaign period and we are requesting all other nominees in the UDA party that we conduct peaceful elections. We have only two months of vigorous campaigns and we would wish that we move on, we declare peace since Uasin Gishu has been said it’s a hotspot and we want to prove them wrong,” Chelilim added.
“In 2013 and 2017 they were all peaceful and this one is going to be peaceful because all competitors happen to be our brothers and sisters and one of the gubernatorial candidates is the son of this county,” he said.
He noted that there will be no quarrels and they want peace.
“We will sell our manifesto peacefully and want we want is peaceful coexistence with other tribes living in Uasin Gishu since it’s cosmopolitan.I pledge and my deputy governor that we will conduct peaceful campaigns and ask other nominees as we do our campaigns lets advocate for peace,” he added
