ORPP Holds Media Sensitization In Uasin Gishu
The Office of the Registrar of political parties (ORPP) on Monday held a sensitization forum for journalists in Uasin Gishu journalist to increase engagement between the two offices.
Speaking to the press Hope Nandwa North Rift Coordinator for ORPP said this will enhance the good relationship between the office of ORPP and the media.
“Today we were holding a sensitization forum with the media to increase engagement with the media people and also try to understand the gaps in information
that the media have between us as ORPP and the media and build synergy between the two organizations,” said Nandwa while speaking to the press.
She says their aim is to ensure that the media reports objectively during the electioneering period.
“All media practitioners are expected to remain objective and observe the code of conduct in their professions without taking sides as the country gears towards the August polls since they are the one who can increase of reducing conflicts .” said Hope Nandwa North Rift Coordinator for ORPP .
The Office of the Registrar of political parties (ORPP) also held a peace caravan in Eldoret town and its surrounds.
“We have also had a peaceful caravan in Eldoret town and its surroundings trying to engage with communities and allow them to tell us what they feel about political parties and what they
expect us to do even as we gear towards the August polls,” Nandwa added.
The office of the registrar of political parties (ORPP) regulates political parties to ensure compliance with the law
