NCIC Roles Out Peace Sensitization Program in Uasin Gishu

In the pursuit of a peaceful county before,during and after election, the National Government and the National Cohesion and Integration Commission of kenya (NCIC) has roled a program of sensitizing the public on the importance of peace in Uasin Gishu County.

This after the county was listed among the hotspot areas that is likely to experience violence after the election by NCIC.

Speaking to the press NCIC Commissioner
Dorcas Kedogo says they have been engaging various groups which include youths,women in order to have a peaceful election.

“We have met women, youths, Boda Boda riders, peace actors among others, our main aim is to ensure that they are peace ambassadors to the grassroot level for us to have a peaceful elections,” says Kedogo while speaking to three press.

The commissioner says they find a way of reaching any person who might cause violence and have a conversation aiming at upholding peace and cohesion within the county and country at large.

“It is not that we will have chaos in Uasin Gishu but it is through the report from the locals that we might have chaos and we want to prevent chaos from erupting “Kedogo added.

The Senior Assistant to the Uasin Gishu County Commissioner Mokin Arap Tanui assured the residents that there will be peace before, during and after the August polls.

“We have put up strategies to ensure thta we have a peaceful election and I urge everyone to take part in peace building.Our goal is to have a peaceful election ,” he said.
