Police hunt down Embu man who converted hotel into illicit brew packaging site

A multi-agency team in Embu county seized illicit brew in Ugweri market, Runyenjes, Embu county, on Saturday morning.

The main suspect had converted a hotel to a site for packaging illicit brew.

The multiagency team was led Embu county commissioner Eddyson Nyale, who warned traders operating illegal business within the county, saying their days were numbered.

Among tools seized include bottling equipment, crates with empty bottles, unused bottle tops, methanol in jericans and water tanks that were being used to mix and repackage liquor from other brands.

Police have arrested two workers from the premises, and launched a manhunt for the main suspect.
