The County Government has today signed a partnership framework agreement with World Vision Kenya to further deepen development ties with the NGO.

The agreement will now encompass all County departments and will provide a clear framework of engagement for the development of all sectors in the County.

The agreement will facilitate joint fundraising efforts, planning and implementation of project and programmes as well as evaluation and monitoring.

“In the past, we used to do this separately. But we realise we can achieve much more if we do them jointly for mutual benefit and success,” said World Vision Operations Director Miriam Mbembe.

She said the agreement will make it easy for World Vision to channel support from it’s donors to the County.

“For instance we have seen the need to carry out a school feeding programme in this County because in some areas children go to school hungry. From the funding we receive, we should be able to channel some resources for joint implementation,” she said.

Governor Alex Tolgos who signed the agreement with Ms Mbembe, said the document provided a formal engagement with World Vision to further entrench the existing partnership.

“With this formal agreement, we at the County will also increase our resource mobilization efforts so that we try and match the resources you provide us,” he said.

Tolgos directed County departments to cooperate with World Vision as they undertake analysis of areas for support.

The World Vision team included the North Rift Regional Manager Elijah Chiwe and Elgeyo Marakwet Representative Jacklyne Kurui.

Present during the event were County Secretary Paul Chemmuttut, CEC Abraham Barsosio and County Chief Officers among other County staff.
