PHOTOS:Change of Guard as Jonathan Bii Alias Koti Moja Sworn in as Uasin Gishu Governor
Uasin Gishu governor elect Jonathan Bii alias Koti Moja was on Thursday sworn in as Uasin Gishu governor.
Bii takes over from governor Jackson Mandago who was serving his last term in office.
His deputy engineer Bororot was also sworn in as second Governor of Uasin Gishu.
Mandago is now Uasin Gishu senator a position that was held by Prof Margaret Kamar .
He thanked residents for electing him as their second governor.
“I want to thank Uasin Gishu residents for believing in my leadership and I promise that I will not to let you down, ” he said.
The outgoing governor Jackson Mandago also handed over the instruments of power to the new governor.
The occasion was attended by local leaders who included Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi, Kesses MP Julius Ruto, Turbo MP Janet Sitienei, Soy MP David Kiplagat , Moiben MP Phylis Bartoo among others.
All MCA elect also attended the occasion.
