Uasin Gishu Woman Member of the National Assembly elect Gladys Boss Sholei, has thanked the people of Uasin Gishu county for maintaining peace during the election period.

Speaking at the swearing-in ceremony for Governor-elect Uasin Gishu County Jonathan Bii held at the Eldoret Sports Club, Kesses constituency Sholei appreciated the efforts taken by the residents in ensuring the county remains peaceful despite being labeled as one of the hot spot areas in the country.

“We are thankful to the residents of Uasin Gishu for showing they are true Kenyans since from the campaigns all the way to the voting and tallying were done in a peaceful manner. This county was labeled as a hotspot but from today we tell them we are peaceful and Uasin Gishu is okay.” Said Shollei.

She commended Kenyans for the lack of violence and skirmishes in the country indicating that the people have matured and are ready to move on.

“At no time did you hear about skirmishes in Kisumu and Kibera. That is a sign that Kenyans have moved on and have accepted the fifth president of the republic of Kenya.” Noted the woman representative.

In a message to the Azimio One Kenya Coalition members after their Mombasa rally held yesterday, Hon. Shollei cautioned against inciting the public claiming that it is not acceptable and that if they have any issues they should meet in court.

“I am warning you for the things you said in Mombasa. I hope you are investigated for it amounts to incitement. This is not acceptable and if you are a statesman, go to the courts for we have accepted to go to the courts too. ” Cautioned Boss Shollei.

She further thanked deputy president and president-elect William Ruto for choosing her to be his representative in the presidential transition committee, exuding confidence in their victory while also urging Kenyans to keep calm as they await the supreme court decision on the presidential results case.

Where will that case go? Nowhere. Keep calm and know that everything is okay. I am thankful to the fifth president for appointing me to represent him on the transition committee. The committee has started work. All top government officials have briefed the president-elect and the transition is ongoing.

Ignore the rumors that the committee was disbanded. We met yesterday, we are meeting tomorrow and everything is okay. Pray for us as we are presenting our evidence tomorrow.”Concluded Shollei.
