County, National Governments To Partner On the State of Art Bukhungu Stadium Completion
Kakamega County Governor Fernandes Barasa has expressed his willingness to partner with key stakeholders to complete construction and operationalization of major County projects among them Bukhungu Stadium and Kakamega County Teaching and Referral Hospital.
The Governor said this on Monday during the burial of Mama Rebecca Nafula Namatsi, mother to Speaker of Kakamega County Assembly Rt. Hon. James Namatsi at Eluche in Mumias East Sub-County.
“The construction of the state of the art, multimillion sports facility calls for the County’s collaboration with other key stakeholders to fast track its completion and operationalization,” said the Kakamega governor.
The Construction works of the three-phase facility is currently at the second phase.
“The County Government is currently in talks with the National Government to complete and operationalize the County Teaching and Referral Hospital whose Phase one construction is already complete,” govenor Barasa added.
The Kakamega governor further stressed the need for the Executive and Assembly to work together to deliver services to the residents calling on the Honourable Members to put their party affiliations aside and concentrate on delivery of services to the people.
On revival of Mumias Sugar factory, the County CEO implored residents to plant cane to enable constant supply of raw materials to the East and Central Africa giant miller saying once fully operationalized, the factory will enhance the economy and create massive employment opportunities to the residents of Kakamega County.
Deputy Governor Ayub Savula and Former Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Ambetsa Oparanya also condoled with the family of the Speaker on Sunday.
