Nandi County Senator, Samson Cherargei now says he will table a bill in the senate on insecurities that have been the order of the day in the volatile Elgeyo Marakwet.
Cherargei says this will bring to an end the banditry attacks in the region.
“I will table a bill in Senate on matters security in the Volatile Elgeyo Marakwet where insecurity has been the order of the day. The bill will ensure that banditry attacks in the region are a thing of the past,” said the Nandi Senator.
He says those bandits terrorizing residents will face the full force of the law once the bill is passed.
“I will make sure that all those people who are involved in banditry in the county are arrested and arraigned in a court of law. This issue must come to an end”, said senator Cherargei.
He also called upon leaders to respect the deputy president Rigathi Gachagua.
“Many people have not accepted that you are the deputy president, but I want you to forgive them since they seem to have hangovers on the same. I urge you to forgive those who insult you on social media since they are still in doubt,” said Senator Cherargei.
The Nandi senator said the deputy president Rigathi Gachagua was elected by Kenyans and he must be respected by everyone.
“We must respect the deputy president because he was elected by Kenyans”, said Cherargei.
Rift valley regional commissioner Maalim Mohamed, said that save for sporadic attacks, the government needs to reduce the spate of raids through collaboration with communities, leaders, and security teams in the region.
