Elgeyo Marakwet senator Kipchumba Murkomen Message to Public Servants
Elgeyo Marakwet senator Kipchumba Murkomen has urged Public servants not to worry after Kenya Kwanza won the elections.
He says the Kenya Kwanza government has inherited demoralized public servants who have been living in fear since the previous administration who were always threatening them.
Speaking in Koilel, Uasin Gishu county Murkomen said that most public servants were used by the previous government to perform political functions contrary to their oath of office.
He says that this has made them uncomfortable in their offices now that the people they humiliated are part of the government.
“Many of the servants are now living in fear that the new cabinet secretaries upon taking office may sack them. This happens because for five years they have been living in fear that was inflicted on them by the previous administration but we want to tell them that this is a different government that enables every public servant to work in a free environment and to harness their potential and serve this country towards achieving prosperity,”said Murkomen,
Murkomen further stated that the government will deal with the bandits in Kerio valley decisively soon after the nominated interior Cabinet secretary Professor Kithure Kindiki takes office before holding religious prayers in the area.
“When the new Interior CS Kindiki comes to the office we will make sure that we go back to Kerio valley to settle the disputes there before taking the religious leaders to the area for prayers,” added Murkomen.
The county commissioners and chiefs are among the public servants who were heavily accused by Kenya
Kwanza brigades during campaigns of being used by the previous administration to perform political functions.
