Uasin Gishu County Assembly Speaker Phillip Muigei Meets Eldoret Journalist, Reveals When CEC Vetting Will Commence

Uasin Gishu County Assembly speaker Phillip Muigei now says the vetting of persons nominated for the CEC positions will commence next week.

Speaking after he hosted a Media Breakfast with the Eldoret 4th estate Muigei said the exercise will commence from Monday up until Thursday and further invited members of the fourth estate to come to witness the whole event.

“We gazetted 10 CECs who the governor had nominated, we will vet them from Monday up to Thursday and I am inviting journalists to come to see for themselves the whole process for its an open forum. After vetting the governor will get people who will aid him in implementing his manifesto.” said the Uasin Gishu County Assembly speaker.

Promising to work together for the goodwill of the residents, the speaker noted the importance of the meeting in service delivery and called upon journalists to work hand in hand with the county government to ensure the betterment of the people’s lives.

“We had a meeting, we have talked and I want to say the meeting was productive and we will continue working together so as to relay good and unbiased information to the public. For this 3rd Uasin Gishu County Assembly, I have explained the way forward. I have told them the important role the media plays in disseminating information and going forward we want to work together in building this county of Uasin Gishu.” said the speaker.

On his immediate task concerning work going forward now that the county structure is complete, the speaker prioritized the need to do work and highlighted his trust in the elected members of the county assembly and that the only thing for them is to work.

“Allow the MCAs to work for the people who elected them as they have high hopes for the people they elected. So we will work together to actualize what they had promised. The MCAs we have are good experienced people who can be trusted and I know they’ll work very well for the sake of the people who elected them.” said speaker Muigei.
