Musalia Mudavadi Reveals His Net Worth

Prime Cabinet Secretary Nominee Musalia Mudavadi has disclosed his net worth.
Speaking after he met the committee’s chair National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang’ula Mudavadi said he is worth Sh 4 billion.

“If I take my investments in shares in various companies and also properties that I own, I would put my net worth at about KSh 4 billion,” said the Prime Cabinet Secretary nominee.
He said his income is from income are from rental income, dividends from shareholding, interests, and other expenses that come from the farm.

Musalia Mudavadi was born on 21ST September 1960 in Sabatia Constituency Vihiga County.

He is the current Prime Cabinet Secretary nominee under the Kenya Kwanza government led by President William Ruto.
Mudavadi graduated from the University of Nairobi in 1984 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Land Economics where he first joined politics in 1989 when he was elected unopposed in a by-election to succeed his deceased father Moses Mudavadi as Member of Parliament for Sabatia constituency.

During the deceased president Daniel Toroitich Arap Moi era Mudavadi held powerful positions which include: Vice President of the Republic of Kenya from 2002 to 3rd January 2003, Minister of Transport and Communication from 2000 to 2002, Minister of Information, Transport and Communication from 1999 to 2000, Minister of Finance between 1993 and 1997, Minister for Supplies and Marketing between 1989 and 1993 among others.

Opposition Members of Parliament were opposed to his appointment to the position of Prime cabinet secretary terming that position as alien to the constitution and therefore unconstitutional.

However, Speaker of the National Assembly Moses Wetangula has declared the position legal.

The Duties of the Prime Cabinet Secretary according to president William Ruto include: Assisting the President and DP in coordinating Ministries/State Departments, Overseeing Implementation of government policies/projects/programs, Chairing and co-ordinating legislative agenda across ministries/state departments, chairing principal secretaries committees.

Others include Supervising and evaluating government policies/Programs/projects, Performing any other Function as may be assigned by the President among others.
