Elgeyo Marakwet governor Wisley Rotich officially opened a library at Chepsigot Secondary.

The library is funded by Knowledge Empowering Youth (KEY), a Canadian registered charity that invests in turnkey school libraries.

“It is through education that we can achieve what we aspire in life. Out of education, challenges we face in life are lessened,” said governor Rotch.

The organisation was represented by Rita Field-Marsham, daughter to the Late Nicholas Biwott.

“I encourage our people to educate their children and embrace reading culture. The more knowledge you gain the more opportunities open up to allow us achieve better possibilities in career and personal growth. With education, we are all equal, irrespective of our past.
I am a living example and a beneficiary of education,” he added.
