DCI Director of Training Opens Intermediate Online Investigations

The DCI Director of Training Mr. Edwin Kamau, presided over the official opening of an intensive training on Intermediate Online Investigations comprising of officers drawn from the DCI’s Anti-Human Trafficking and Child Protection Unit.

The one-week training that is facilitated by the International Justice Mission (IJM), in partnership with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) is tailored towards imparting skills in pursuing the enhancing of standards for child protection and preventing crimes against children.

While addressing the course participants, Mr. Kamau applauded them saying he was confident that the training they will receive will go a long way in placing emphasis on interpreting and investigating Cybertipline reports received from the NCMEC.

He further acknowledged the IJM for the tremendous support the organization accorded the Directorate in the outfitting of a child-friendly interview space in Mombasa.

On his part, the IJM Country Director Mr. Benson Shamala, while pledging more support, appreciated the DCI’s partnership in the initiative and the commitment to protecting children from offenders who would exploit and abuse them.
