Lets Put our Town in Order- Governor Bii

Uasin Gishu Governor Jonathan Bii Chelilim has highlighted the need to have Eldoret town put in order now that it is gearing towards the attainment of city status.

Bii who spoke today during a meeting with County Inspectorate Officers reiterated that business entities must be maintained to realize equality across traders urging bodaboda operators and Hawkers to work within their designated areas.

“Lets out our town in order as you know we are just few steps to becoming a city , we urge bodaboda operators and Hawkers to work within their designated areas,” said Uasin Gishu governor.

The county boss further challenged the Inspectorate and the national government administration officers to always do their work diligently within the law especially when carrying out operations.

“There’s already a conducive business environment for our traders and investors and it is within our role to make sure that order of doing business is maintained across the town” added Bii.

He called upon all County Inspectorate Officers (Enforcement officers) to work within the laws, chain of command and create a band for effective and efficient service delivery.

Bii noted that County Inspectorate Service Act will soon be implemented to introduce the culture of teamwork and performance as the County gears towards the adoption of the city status.

On his part, Deputy Governor Eng.John Barorot highlighted on the importance of putting up structures to ensure effective service delivery through the decentralization of county functions to the village level.

According to County Secretary Edwin Bett, inspectorate officers apart from working with various agencies in various collaborations plays a key role in revenue collection, building plan approvals, agriculture, livestock and environment.
