Over 4,000 Kenyans that were promised to travel to Qatar for the World cup games by First Choice Recruitment and Consultancy in Eldoret now say thye will hold a peaceful demonstration on Thursday.
Speaking after notifying the authorities concerning the demonstration their aim is to ensure the consultancy refunds them their money.
“We wish to make it known that we will be holding a peaceful demonstration on Thursday 24th to make sure that the consultancy refunds back our money. We have tried reaching out to the governor, Uasin Gischu County Commissioner but all in vain, “said Enock Tarus one of the applicants.
With the world cup having commenced, they say there is no hope in more chances of recruitment and they need their sh. 40,000 commission refunded by the firm.
Samuel explains how he lost his job which earned him an income for daily sustenance and how he has become an outcast having influenced his family to sell their piece of land to pay for his sister’s application too.
“I sold my motorbike to pay for the Visa application which eventually failed. I was intimidated when I was arrested and released on cash bail, the so-called hustlers who need help are suffering the most, ” said Samuel.
Lawrence, a youth in Eldoret town has said how his existence has become risky saying that he posted on Twitter concerning the violation and authorities now consider him the main culprit stirring peace.
” I posted concerning this whole thing on Twitter and I now have a case to be heard on November 30. I am calling upon the president to help us out because most of us are students who have graduated from campus and are looking for means to survive amid this tough economy, ” said Lawrence.
Every youth whose application failed has a story to tell and what they expect for them to survive.
