The Uasin Gishu County Body of Christ in conjunction with the Uasin Gishu County Government on Thursday held a Thanksgiving and dedication prayer service at the Eldoret Sports Club.

The service was attended by a host of religious leaders from across the county and several other top county officials.

Speaking during the event, Governor Jonathan Bii Chelilim said prayers had played a key part in the success of his political journey.

The Governor noted that it was through prayers that he was able to win the elections, committing to continue hosting religious leaders at his offices for regular prayers even as he works towards steering the county to success.

Governor Bii also promised that he will ensure all the pledged in his development blueprint ‘Nguzo Kumi’ are fully implemented.

He also asked locals to support the ongoing push to elevate Eldoret to city status, listing several benefits that will come with it.

“We’re planning to elevate Eldoret to be a city and you know the city has benefits. We will have more investors,” noted the county boss.

On his part, Deputy Governor Eng. John Barorot asked locals and church leaders to continue praying for the county leadership.

Eng. Barorot noted that the task ahead for the county is huge and will need support from citizens, including prayers.

“If we continue praying, we will be able to succeed in whatever we will do. We will have blessings from God,” said the DG.

“I ask all of us to go through this journey. Let us not look at short-term gains. We have many plans and projects including making Eldoret a city,” he added.
