Transnzoia Launches Human Resource Audit Exercise

As part of its efforts to identify gaps in human resource management in Trans Nzoia, the administration has launched a human resource audit exercise.

Samson Ojwang, CEC for public service management, said the administration of Governor George Natembeya is committed to ensuring County employees perform their duties effectively.

In response, the CEC urged county staff to cooperate with the audit team to the fullest extent possible.

Using the exercise, he said, the county administration would be able to manage its wage bill well after knowing the exact number of staff.

Additionally, some employees have left the service but are still on the payroll, and absentee staff who earn a monthly salary, he said.

The CEC stressed the importance of truthfulness and honesty when providing information since it is one of the objectives of service delivery.

Members of staff were warned not to use fake documents, saying if caught, legal consequences would follow.

“Those who use forged documents should refrain from doing so because all documents will be verified physically and electronically, and anyone caught with fake documents will face legal consequences.” He explained.

Finance CEC Mr. Bonface Wanyonyi on his part asked the county employees to share the information with other staff to ensure that every person is toted up.

Apart from verifying documents, Mr. Alex Luwera, the vice chairman of the task force, added that the task force’s mandate is to ensure that qualifications match job requirements.

The exercise that commenced today is expected to end on the 22nd of December 2022 at designated areas/stations.
