Uasin Gishu Gets a New Commander
Uasin Gishu County now has a new County Commander Moses Mureithi this after Ayub Gitonga was transferred.
Gitonga was transferred to Nairobi
Mureithi says he will deal with insecurity cases which have been the order of the day leading to the loss of lives and property.
“I want to assure residents that I am up to the task and as I take over as Uasin Gishu County Commander taking over from my predecessor Ayub Gitonga I will ensure that cases of insecurity which have been the order of the day will be a thing of the past,” said the Uasin Gishu incoming County commander.
He said he will increase police patrols in hotspots areas which include informal settlements among others.
“I am calling upon residents to work with us by reporting any cases of insecurity amongst them and we promise to take stern actions against those involved because we cannot stay mum while the security of residents is at risk, you should always keep in mind that security begins with you, “he said.
Uasin Gishu is the rural home of President William Samoei Ruto.
In the recent past, Uasin Gishu has registered increased cases of insecurity where property worth millions has been stolen while lives lost recently being that of fashionista Edwin Kiprotich Chiloba.
Naiberi residents last week demonstrated calling for the removal of the Naiberi OCS Mr. Mwamburi and OCPD Mr. Mwatete saying the duo had been sleeping on the job.
