Trade CEC Hosts Kibabii University Management, Agrees On Areas of Cooperation

CECM for Trade, Energy and Industrialisation Ms Khalai Carolyne today hosted a cross section of the Kibabii University deparmental heads who called on her at her office today.

The team led by Dr. Kadian, Dr. Atandi and Dr. Laura Mamuli committed to offer free consultancy services to Bungoma county on matters Trade and Industrialization by training and capacity building of county employees.

Kibabii team lauded Governor Kenneth Lusaka for the benchmarking tour in Spain during his first tenure as the Bungoma Governor, saying it informed the commencement of the degree programme; Bachelor of Science in Cooperative Management at the institution.

On her part, CECM Khalai Makali committed to further engage the university team for research on Trade policies and issues on consumer protection in addition to drafting of investing proposals in the Energy sector.

“We are in touch with the Rural Electrification Authority to ensure our residents get power,” added Makali.

It should be noted that Governor Lusaka has committed to light up the county to bolster economic development.
Dr. Atandi in his closing remarks revealed the universitys’ plans to start an innovation and incubation hub targeting the Small and Medium Enterprises sector, marketing and Industry.

Present in the meeting were Chief Officer Barasa Denson, Lydia Khisa the departamental economist, Dr. Brian Singoro, Dr. Sungwacha, Dr CPA Fwamba and other university members of staff.
