According to Uasin Gishu County Acting Chief Incharge of Fire and disaster management David Sitati, the team rescued property and other goods worth millions of shillings from being reduced to ashes.
And on Sunday, the fire brigade team had to respond to another serious fire outbreak in a busy Mosoriot trading centre and management to put off a fire that had engulfed several business premises including an electricity post. All worth millions of shillings in an incident that occurred at 4 a.m.
“Last week our team was in Kapsabet town, and successfully put off a fire that was burning Juakali businesses whose properties are estimated to be worth millions of shillings,” said Sitati.
Sitati called for close working relations with firefighting teams in the neighbouring countries to avert to make the work easy and successful.
He also emphasised the need to build trust among the firefighting teams from the three counties to enhance effective service delivery.
