Over the weekend, the institution under the stewardship of the chief principal Charles Koech and the Dean of students Benjamin Maiyo sponsored the international Athletes competition which was held at the Eldoret National Polytechnic Stadium where several champions emerged as winners.
Florence Chepkemboi a second-year student defender of the Kenya Athlete of Technical Training Institutes (KATTI) 200m and 400m 2022, lead in 100m,200m, and 400m women.
Daniel Kiplagat the reigning Kenya Athletes Of technical training institutes (KATTI) champion in 2021, silver medalist Athletes Kenya (AK) held In Kisumu in 2023, and Bronze medalist Athletes Kenya (AK) held in Mumias Sports Complex 2023; was again the champion Discus 40metres men.
Marion Nyabuba a first-year student emerged as the winner in both 500m and 10,000m for men.
Elly Kipngeno a first-year student emerged as the new high jump champion and the biting champion KATTI 2022.
Godwin Marus a third-year student and the defending champion of 5,000m and 10,000m won the 10,000m and came second in the 5000m walking race after he was defeated by Samson Kataboi a third-year student who won the walking race.
Ruth Namukhula a second-year student who was 2022 selected for trials of the commonwealth champions won 5,000m and 10,000m walking races for women.
While addressing Journalist Games patron Musa Kibet acknowledged the massive support from the school administration led by chief principal Chalse Koech and the Dean of students Benjamin Maiyo.
Kibet noted that the tremendous victory witnessed in sports and games was not from him alone but instead it was a collective of team coaches led by the deputy dean of students Jane Marindich and the Eldoret National Polytechnic sports Coordinator Kimani Yego.
