Azimio supporters in Uasin Gishu want Raila to Hold a Rally in the County
Azimio supporters in UasinGishu county have requested the Opposition leader Raila Odinga to hold a political rally in Eldoret town.
Led by, Samuel Kipchumba the chairman of the ODM party in the North Rift region they said they recognize Odinga as their leader, and that they will fully support him and follow his instructions when called upon.
“As ODM supporters from Uasin Gishu, we are humbly calling on our party leader Raila Odinga to at least hold one public rally in Eldoret. Odinga has massive support in the county and denying them a chance to be heard will be doing injustice to them,” said Kipchumba while speaking to the press.
Kipchumba further said they are still not comfortable with president Ruto’s win during the August 2022 general elections.
“We were not happy with what happened in the August polls and as Azimio supporters we are seeking justice. We believe that our victory was stolen,” Said Evans Odhiambo, the Organizing Secretary for ODM Party in Rift Valley.
The Azimio supporters have blamed the current government for the economic crisis and the high cost of living in Kenya.
“ It is sad that despite Kenya Kwanza leaders giving promises during the electioneering period, they haven’t fulfilled as the prices of essential commodities have sky-rocketed,” Said Kephas Ochieng, KANU chairman, Uasin Gishu County.
They claimed that they need changes in governance to enable lives to move on smoothly for them and that if Odinga could have won, the elections, the cost of living would not be as hard as it is now.
The opposition leader has recently held rallies in Nairobi,Busia, Machakos, Kisumu, and Kisii.
