Bungoma Youths to Get Free Access To Digital Services

The Jitume Kazi Desktop Infrastructure will provide the Bungoma youths with access to Digital services, Digital Skills and opportunities to enable them take advantage of technology for job creation, Governor Lusaka has said.

Speaking at Matili and Kisiwa Technical Training Institutes where he hosted the Cabinet Secretary for Information, Communication and The Digital Economy Eliud Owalo for the launch of the Jitume Kazi Desktop Infrastructure, Lusaka asked the Department of TVET to consider upgrading Matili & Kisiwa Technical Training Institutes to National Polytechnic status.

“I have engaged the President William Ruto and Ministry of Education over the upgrade of the institutions to the National Polytechnic status. PS TVET Dr Esther Mworia kindly fast track the process,” he said.

The Governor also stated the Department of Energy will install streetlights along the Kimilili-Matili road to for the safety of the students and the residents.

Kabuchai lawmaker Majimbo Kalasinga pleaded with his colleagues to work on a bill to make technical education national exams free just like KCPE and KCSE examinations.

Principal Secretary TVETA Dr Esther Mworia, MPs; Didmus Barasa (Kimilili), Majimbo Kalasinga (Kabuchai), Julius Rutto (Kesses), a section of Mcas among other County & National Government officials were in attendance.
