Family in Sugoi Seeks For Justice After Their Kin Was Brutally Murdered
The family of the slain Sugoi Girls Secondary school watchman and trustee Joel Kibet Ngetich demand speedy investigations into the heinous murder of their kin.
Suspects who were captured by the School CCTV cameras are still at large and no arrests have been made.
The 55-year-old was found dead in the morning, with a television set valued at Ksh.55, 000 stolen.
Joel who was working as a security officer at Sugoi girls in turbo was killed on the 22nd of February while performing his duties at the school as a watchman.
A Postmortem report has revealed Joel was hit with a blunt object on the head breaking his skull, the family is demanding compensation from the school.
Michael Kiprotich brother of Joel Kibet says that they were informed about the death of their brother when the body of the deceased was already on a police Landcruiser.
“We reached the scene of the crime and we found the body of the deceased already put on the police vehicle, therefore we can’t tell how our brother was killed. the principal to come out and speak on this issue because they are not giving clear information of what happened exactly, “he said.
Stephen Kipkemboi son of the late Joel Kibet urged the government to look into the matter and make sure his father gets justice.
“Our father was our breadwinner of the family and my young brothers and sisters are still in school they will have nobody to pay for their school fees, therefore we want the government to help us because everyone is going to leave and we will remain alone.”
Emily Chelimo sister to the deceased said it has taken them 10 days without any information from the investigative team.
“Up to now nobody has been arrested to confirm that our brother was killed at the same time it has been 10 days without any information from the DCI,”Emily said.
Joel Kibet was laid to rest at his home in Sugoi on 1st March 2023.
The Uasin Gishu DCI Boss Peter Kimulwo has confirmed that investigations are ongoing.
