County Keen to tap Into Special Sports Talent
The County Government of Uasin Gishu is eager to capitalize on the special sport’s potential and eventually include it in the talent development strategy.
County Executive for Sports, Eng Lucy Ng’endo, said the county is working on regulations that would help with the identification and development of special sports as she watched a sitting volleyball practice match in Eldoret.
She said that the Governor has a strong interest in sports, which is why a program to identify talent at the local level is currently being implemented in all 30 wards.
The Governor’s Cup Tournament aims to give young people the opportunity to showcase their volleyball skills from the ward level up and to turn sports into a career.
Director for Youth, Henry Mukholwe and several county staff attended and witnessed the para volley training at Social Hall in Eldoret.
