Names of Unclaimed 50 Bodies to be Disposed of by MTRH This Tuesday
The Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital will on Tuesday will dispose of 50 unclaimed bodies at the Kiplombe cemetery.
According to the MTRH Chief Executive (CEO) Dr. Wilson Aruasa says the bodies have remained unclaimed for several months and The Public Health Act and Public Health (Public Health Mortuaries) Rules, 1991 allow for disposal after 21 days.
“Here the bodies have stayed for several months and we still added a week for them to be collected, with no families claiming the decedent bodies, we’ll go ahead and dispose of them,” said Dr. Aruasa.
A majority of Bodies are male Adults whose exact age is not known.
“We have taken time, worked with the DCI and National Registration Bureau( NRB) to identify those we could using fingerprints technology and informed their families to collect the bodies” added the MTRH CEO
