The Eldoret Madrasatul Huda Al-Islamiyah, donated food aid to over 200 women in dire need of food donations.
Sheikh Abubakar Bini who is also the chair of the Council of Imams and Preachers of Kenya (CIPK) North Rift region noted said that many women and especially the widows and single parents as well as the elderly have been affected by the biting economic hard times.

“Every Ramadan, Madrasatul Huda provides food donations to the needy in our society, however in recent years we have noticed an increase in the number of those in need of food donations despite a decrease in those providing food aid, today we have given out food aid to 200 women, On Sunday we provided similar donations to our imams in the various mosques,” said Sheikh Bini.

Bini thanked President William Ruto and the opposition leader Raila Odinga for agreeing to hold talks for the sake of the Nation and pleaded with the leaders to address the many concerns among Kenyans over the high cost of living.

“This month of Ramadan has been filled with a lot of sideshows. One of the issues is the demonstrations, Muslim leaders joined other religious leaders in pressuring the need to have a dialogue within the confines of the law between President Ruto and the former prime minister, we are glad the county is now peaceful, we can now celebrate Ramadan and Easter Holidays for our Christian brothers and sisters “Said Sheikh Bini.

Muslims believe that Ramadan teaches them to practice self-discipline, self-control, sacrifice, and empathy for those who are less fortunate thus encouraging actions of generosity and compulsory charity (zakat).
