Kakamega County Administrators have been directed to ensure safety of all water resources within their areas of jurisdiction. The directive was made by the Governor Fernandes Barasa on Wednesday at a capacity building forum for County Administrators at Golf Hotel, Kakamega.

Owing to the two health incidents at Mukumu Girls and Butere Boys High Schools, the County boss reminded the Officers to be extremely cautious with public health issues and instructed them to lias with schools and other institutions to arrest any arising case.

He reiterated that the County will embrace a multi-agency approach in addressing such emergencies in Kakamega County.

As the custodians of information at the grassroots, FCPA Barasa told the Administrators to disseminate reports on Government projects and programmes effectively and be at the forefront in articulating the six pillars of his Manifesto.

Coordinating other departments, coordination of disaster and emergencies and identifying development projects within their areas are the other mandates the Governor reminded the Admins to undertake with passion.

Others are mobilizing revenue and providing a linkage between the County Government and members of the public.

Earlier on, the Governor hosted Health Cabinet Secretary Ms Susan Nakhumicha and Education Permanent Secretary Dr. Belio Kipsang at his office. The two visiting government officials were on mission to address the medical incidents that occurred at Mukumu Girls and Butere Boys High Schools leading to closure of the institutions.
