Shun Violence and Embrace Dialogue-President Ruto to Raila Odinga

President William Ruto has urged opposition leader Raila Odinga to avoid violence but allows talks to take place in parliament.
Ruto says violence and demonstrations will not solve anything but instead will worsen the economy.

“All issues raised by the opposition leader Raila Odinga will be taken to parliament. my friend Odinga should avoid violence and fights since it puts the economy of the country in Jeopardy,” said President Ruto

He spoke during Iftar organized by the Eastleigh Business District Association as part of the observance of the holy month of Ramadan.

The event took place at Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC).

“We must work together towards a peaceful nation,” President Ruto added

“As we begin the last 10 days and blessed nights of the Holy Month of Ramadan, I extend my warm greetings and wishes to the Muslim community,” Ruto said.

President Ruto urged Muslims to continue to promote peace, love, and compassion for all during this blessed time.

“Ramadhan is a sacred tradition and a time of introspection, prayer, and fasting for the Muslim faithful. It is a time to strengthen the bonds of family, community, and kindness to the less fortunate,” the president said

President Ruto was joined by his deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, prime CS Musalia Mudavadi, CS for defense Aden Duale, and Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja among others.
