135 hectares of National Youth Service Granted Export Processing Zone (EPZ) Status
Cabinet Secretary for Investments, Trade, and Industry, Hon. Moses Kuria has announced that 135 hectares of land in our county, located near the National Youth Service, has been granted Export Processing Zone (EPZ) status.
“In the Exercise of the powers conferred by section 15 (1) of the Export Processing Zone, The Cabinet Secretary for Investment, trade and Industry declares the land specified in the schedule hereto be an Export Processing Zone.,” the Gazette Notice read.
“All the parcel of land known as Title Number Eldoret/Municipality Block 15/1757 measuring approximately 135 hectares or thereabout, situated within Uasin Gishu County,” it added
According to governor Jonathan Bii a significant milestone for our region.
“The establishment of an EPZ in our county will attract investors and create job opportunities for the local workforce. EPZs are designed to promote export-oriented industries, which will boost our county’s export earnings and contribute to the growth of the local economy,” he said.
“I am committed to ensuring the success of this venture and look forward to the economic benefits it will bring to our county,” he added.
