Governor Rotich Leads by Example Plants Pyrethrum Crops

This morning, Governor Wisley Rotich commenced the transplanting of pyrethrum seedlings into his 3 acre farm at Kapchemutwa in Keiyo North.
“This will also act as a source of splits to my neighbors to ensure 100% adoption and make EMC the champion in pyrethrum growing.When the bottom of the pyramid is sorted then socioeconomic prosperity is guaranteed,” he said.
He thanked the people of EMC for overwhelming demand for the splits assuring them that the County shall extend the program to other cash crops.
“To address seedlings accessibility due to high demand, I have advised our agriculture team and Kentegra Company team to commence supply of clones to lead farmers who will in turn share splits to neighbours to hasten accessibility of planting material,” he said.
Added the Governor: “We shall be launching in the remaining wards with the support of area MCAs”.
The target wards are Embobut, Sambirir, Kapyego, Lelan, Sengwer, Metkei, Kapchumutwa, Moiben Kuserwo, Kapsowar, Cherangany chebororwo, Kamariny, Chepkorio, Kabiemit, Kaptarakwa, upper Emsoo & Tambach.
