Body Of A Male Adult Retrieved From A Dam In Tapsagoi Ward
Uasin Gishu firefighting brigade on Thursday, retrieved the body of a male adult from a dam in Tapsagoi ward, Turbo Sub County.
According to Uasin Gishu Chief Fire Officer Wanyama Sitati, the deceased identified was about 21 years old, and is suspected to have drowned at the Sugoi Dam along the Sosiani River while he was trying to swim with friends.
Sitati urged all residents to be cautious especially now that there is heavy rains that have increased the river flow. He also asked the community to discourage children and young adults from playing in places with floodwater and trenches with overflowing water to avoid such incidences recurring during heavy rainfall seasons.
The body was retrieved by the County fire department crew and handed over to Turbo police officers who later took it to Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital Mortuary.
