Ruth Njeri a student who scored 301 marks in the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) finally gets an opportunity to join high school.
Njeri has been sitting at home due to a lack of school fees.
Huruma Ward Member of County Assembly (MCA) Kimani Wanjohi who saw the story of Ruth Njeri in the media has come out to rescue the ambitions of the young girl.
“ I want to thank the media for highlighting her plight. It’s so unfortunate for a young bright girl like Njeri to be washing clothes in search of school fees. I don’t really know how long it could have taken for her to raise school fees of 40,000,’’ said the Huruma Ward MCA.
He noted that he has already communicated with the Principal of Kamagut High School who has assured them that Njeri is going to get an admission letter.
“I have spoken with the principal who has agreed to give us the admission letter and within the next 3 days Njeri will be in school just like other students, “added Wanjohi.
The politician has appealed to all less privileged parents to come out and apply for bursaries since the government offers a 100% bursary scheme.
Ruth Njeri who has been doing house chores and laundry duties to save for her school fees managed to save 1,000 in 3 months.
She has thanked Huruma MCA for coming to her rescue and promised to work hard and make him proud.
