Governor Bii Hands Over 500 Title Deeds

In a colourful ceremony marked by happy, thankful residents of Maili Nne , Hill School and Kuinet Settlements, Governor Jonathan Bii Chelilim has fulfilled his promise of improving and fast tracking the processing and issuance of title deeds across the County under his Nguzo Kumi initiative.

In his remarks the governor lauded the Kenya Kwanza government for
initiating a process that makes it easier and faster for the processing
and issuance of land ownership documents across the country.

The County boss expressed optimism that the President Ruto led administration will restore the dignity of hundreds of families who
are still struggling to get title deeds for their land as part of his transformative agenda in the land sector.

“I would like to call on youth to stop selling land given to them by their parents but instead put the property into proper use to uplift
their standards of living,” said Bii.

Bii implored upon parents to start writing their Wills while still alive and strong for their children to avoid cases related to succession
on property which he observed were rampant in the region.

On his part  Uasin Gishu County Deputy Governor H.E Eng  John Barorot  applauded the  government’s efforts to digitize matters of land ownership, observing that it would rid off many cases of land disputes .

Uasin Gishu County Commissioner  Dr. Eddyson Nyale,  warned  politicians and individuals hell bent to continue  causing mayhem and insecurity  due to land  grabbing,

“We wish to  warn all those  leaders who continue to incite members of the public on matters of land and who engage  in cases  of land  grabbing will come for them,” He warned

Speaking at the county headquarters, Mama Sarah Samoei, mother to the President H.E William Ruto, thanked the government for initiating the process to the targeted residents who have been waiting for the land tenure security for many years.

She, emphasised the need for beneficiaries to put into good use the property to improve their social and economic status.

“Let me thank H.E Chelilim for finally bringing into reality land ownership in the 3 settlements,” she said.

Uasin Gishu County Assembly Speaker Hon. Philip Muigei, said that the county Assembly was in to support the Governor’s agenda.

Residents of Maili Nne, Hill school village, and Kuinet were among the landowners who received the title deeds under the Kenya InformalSettlements Improvement programme(KISIP)

CECM Lands Mr. Anthony Sitienei, Chief Officers Mr. Nathan Korir and Mr. Julius Koech, who were in charge of the process saw a successful delivery of the titles.
