Hard luck for Solasa and Falcons

Women division one side Solasa Stima Queens lost their grip to beat relegation battle by going down 2-0 to league leaders Gideons starlets.

Solasa who are in the nineth position with 21 points needed a win to win to keep their hopes of retaining a slot in the league.
In a match played at Opanga primary school, Narcel Adhiambo and Ivyone Ogada were all the home team needed to silence the Eldoret based Queens.

Gideons’ now sit on top of the division one table with 52 points from 23 matches, four points clear of the second placed Bungoma Queens.

In Eldoret hosts Gene Queens earned easy points after their opponents failed to turn up for the match. Relegation bound did not show up for the match that was to be played at the Uasin Gishu primary school on Sunday.

The match outcome propelled Gene to the seventh position from 21 matches.
In Kitale, hosts Royal starlets were also handed a walkover as Rongai eaglets failed to show up for the match.

Royal starlets still stay at the fourth place with 42 points.

Elsewhere at Sang’alo technical training institute, Bungoma Queens beat Eldoret Falcons 2-0 to revive their women premier league promotion chase.

Bungoma who revamped their squad at the beginning of the second leg have had a good run in their recent matches to reach the second position.
