Governor Natembeya’s Vision: Transforming Lives and Building Dreams in Trans Nzoia

Governor George Natembeya’s administration is dedicated to improving the living standards of the residents, according to County Secretary Mrs. Truphosa Amere. During the commissioning of the Victory Jolicage Academy in Kaisagat, Kwanza Sub county, Mrs. Amere, representing the governor, announced that several development projects have already been initiated to ensure that the benefits of devolution are enjoyed by the residents.

Some of the key development initiatives mentioned by Mrs. Amere include the construction of the Tom Mboya Mother and Child Hospital, the construction of a state-of-the-art theater at the Cherangany Sub county Hospital, and the establishment of a chicken slaughterhouse in Maili Tatu.

Additional projects comprise the construction of the new county headquarters, the disbursement of county bursaries, and the allocation of funds from the NAWIRI Fund for small businesses. Mrs. Amere encouraged residents to apply for these funds.

Mrs Amere also stated that the Natembeya administration is rehabilitating the county’s road networks to facilitate the movement of goods and services. Furthermore, county forums will now include a team from the National Government to assist residents in registering and accessing government services such as NHIF and birth certificate issuance.

Education CEC Julie Kichwen Rutto commended Joseph Nyaringo, the school proprietor, for establishing the Victory Jolicage Academy and emphasized the importance of community collaboration for development. Additionally, the county plans to construct a college for Early Childhood Development Education (ECDE) teachers to enhance the quality of education in the county.

Health CEC Dr. Pepela Wanjala revealed that the county will soon partner with the Safaricom Foundation to construct a level 4 hospital in Kwanza Subcounty, ensuring residents have access to quality medical services. Dr. Wanjala mentioned that the county administration has ensured an adequate supply of medical resources in all healthcare facilities across the county.

Kiminini MCA Joshua Amwai urged residents to embrace education for the betterment of the community. Mr. Nyaringo, the school proprietor, expressed gratitude for the county’s support and highlighted how the public-private partnerships promoted by Governor Natembeya would expedite development in the county.

Other county leaders present at the event included Felix Sialo, the Director of Communication, and Timah Omar, the County Chief Administrator.
