Kakamega Investing In Infrastructure To Enhance Water Supply
The County Government of Kakamega is investing in infrastructure to enhance water production with an aim of accomplishing supply of the essential commodity to the residents. The remarks were made by Governor Fernandes Barasa on Wednesday while closing a three day training for the Kakamega County Water and Sanitation Company (KACWASCO) Board Members.
The Governor reiterated his commitment to actualize the water connectivity agenda in his Manifesto dubbed “Amatsi Khumuliango” (water at the doorstep) and challenged the County’s urban water company to fastrack implementation of their projects. He also reminded them to rehabilitate schemes to boost water accessibility and sustainability.
The County boss further appreciated the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) for supporting Kakamega County’s development agenda.
The County Executive Committee Member for Water Mrs Peninah Mukabane on her part observed that the last mile connectivity will increase water coverage and supply in the County.
KACWASCO Board Chairperson Mr Boaz Bulimu assured that the company is committed to deliver on the Governor’s agenda on provision of clean water to residents door steps and noted that the company’s plans were being aligned to the Governor’s Manifesto, the County Integrated Development Plan (CIDP) and other relevant policy documents.
