In an intelligence -led invasion mult- agency team drawn from the national police service and the liquor department combed a forest in Sugunanga Kesses sub county and found boilers used for distilling.
Also found and eradicated in the forest were 10 plastic containers 200 litres each , buried underground
The containers had raw brew locally specified as kangara that would eventually be used to brew chang’aa.
County Director of Alcoholic Drinks and Licensing Board Koiya Arap Maiyo has put on notice those involved in the sale and manufacturing of illicit brew.
He says those who will be found will encounter the full force of the law.
“I want to give a harsh warning to those implicated in the sale and intake of illegal intoxicant we will work round the clock to ensure that this vice is a thing of the past as the county heads to host the fast biennial devolution conference next week. “
