Madam CEO Thoughts on “On The Stage”
Samchi Group Founder and Chief Executive Officer Madam Esther Muchemi has taken a moment to share with us a thought on “ON THE STAGE.”
It’s said, and I concur, that the world is a stage where every man and woman should act. The audience is everybody else!
Just like a real stage, there is a moment of entry and a time of exit.
I guess in the bigger picture, you enter at birth and quit at your expiry date, life beyond. In between, you fulfill your purpose the best way you can, otherwise, regrets will become your shadow, reminding you of the things you didn’t do when you were child, a young person, at middle age and probably now it’s too late. God forbid!
Act and act well.
Let the audience, i.e., everybody else, notice your acting skills.
Now let’s narrow it to this, as a founder, as the CEO of that great organisation, when is the right time to quit?
I found myself asking last evening, on the news of the resignation of a man I have admired a lot.
If you are that politician who has been there since I was born, and has never really got it right, when is the right time to quit?
As a religious leader, when is the right time to quit?
I may not have the right answers but one thing is true:-
If you have given it your very best, created a legacy, built people, created a strong foundation that will outlive you etc, maybe it is the right time to move to the next thing, enjoying the world included.
However, the day you are no longer on the stage which ever it is, even at the workplace, community, church, family etc., and nobody can remember you for anything, probably, just probably ,you didn’t do it very well.
The good thing is this, you and me are still on the stage, we can still act and make a difference.
Will you?
Madam CEO.
