PS Kaituko Meets Qatar Diplomats
The Hon. Principal Secretary for labour and skills development The Hon PS Geoffrey Kaituko Tuesday met Qatari diplomats.
“I was honoured to meet with a team of diplomats from the Qatar embassy in Nairobi. They were led by the Head of Consular , HE Sultan Abdullahi Sultan Al-Hemaidi. We agreed to fast track the negotiations over the proposed Bilateral Labour Agreement between Kenya and Qatar. Indeed , we grateful to the government of Qatar for its willingness to recruit migrant workers from Kenyan.
Qatar is a labour destination country for many people . There are about 60,000 migrant workers from Kenya.We are interested in increasing these numbers. More specifically, we are interested in skilled and semiskilled workers. We also discussed about the job opportunities presented by the upcoming Qatar Horticultural Expo,scheduled for October 2023.”
