Kirinyaga Women Rep Records Statement
Kirinyaga County Woman Representative The Honorable Wakili Njeri Maina on Friday recorded a statement with detectives following an earlier unwarranted attack.
“Asante Kerugoya. Yesterday, I recorded a statement with the DCI, Kerugoya, in regard to my attack. I call on the DCI to do thorough investigations into the attempt on my life without fear or favour,” he said.
He said he intends to pursue other charges against all persons who were and continue to be accessories, either by financing, facilitating and or organizing the same.
“Human psychology predicates that people form opinions based on their biases. This could be their inclinations, environmental upbringing, past trauma, monetary influence et al, ”
This means that only a very negligible fraction of people care to investigate, evaluate and appreciate information to arrive at an informed point of reasoning.
Naturally, people prefer women to be silent, to go away, to play victim, to scamper from sharing their truth. It predates the medieval age, its in the human DNA of both genders.
Well, I’m not that woman. I don’t know how to hide, how not to share my truth, how to quiver under impeding threat.
That’s how I won the UDA nominations, despite loosing someone that I loved with all my being for the 28 years of my life, weeks to the nominations, I’d cry the whole night then wake up and wear a smile and great my people as I asked for their votes.
I understood quite early that my problems are mine first, before they’re anyone else’s. So, I have an obligation to resolve the within because that is primary for my peace of mind.
My father used to tell me, you’ve got to go on, you’ve got to keep going no matter what. It is in the very breath that I take, going on, speaking my mind, being assertive. This opens me up to judgement, like I said, mostly misinformed. I appreciate human psychology. Trust me, I’ve seen the memes, I’ve also seen so much love on social platforms in the few days since the attempt on my life. Which was funded, facilitated and well organized by persons and or their agents I have already mentioned to the DCI.
One thing you can bet on is that I will speak about it until I’ve had my fill, until I resolve the within. You can have an opinion on it, biased or informed, I bless you. Until the within is resolved, I will use every avenue to express it.
If its sympathy, trust me, I am forged of it. It emanates from within, keeping me comfort. In an era where mental health is a critical topic, I will not be shut down by those who prefer to press the button without engaging rational reason. Nor will I be shut down by the very same facilitators and financiers of the attempt on my life.
So dear readers, prepare for a long ride. I’m sorry if it nauseates you, truly, but Justice shall be not only done but seen to be done.
Cue the violins and violas.
