Goodies For Bungoma in Ruto’s Second Day or Tour
President William Ruto’s second day in Bungoma was full of goodies for residents.
The Head of State launched the KSh 500 Million Bungoma County Aggregated Industrial Park at Sang’alo, Kanduyi Sub County, and announced the upgrade of Sang’alo to National Polytechnic status.
“After a thorough assessment of the Learning Institute by the relevant education body, I am happy to announce that, Sang’alo has met all the requirements, therefore, fit to be a National Polytechnic”,Said Ruto.
Speaking during the ground breaking ceremony for the County Industrial Park, President Ruto promised a complete face lift in and around the institution, infrastructure, ICT hub, and promised to construct 500 hostels for the students.
“I will ensure we bring Sang’alo to the best standards by building it’s capacity ,” Said Ruto.
The President further pledged to construct new modern markets at Webuye, Bukembe, Naitiri, Chwele, Mateka, Cheptais, Malakisi and Chebukube, and ICT hubs in all the 45 wards.
“We have captured all the required projects to make Bungoma great. I have instructed all my relevant Ministers to effect this immediately”,Said Ruto.
On the County Aggregation and Industrial Park (CAIP),the Head of State noted that, the first ever assorted County Parks will serve as a hub for agricultural processing,manufacturing, and provide employment opportunities for the locals.
“Our main agenda is to change the lives of our people .The Industrial Park will spur regional development, accelerate the local economy and enhance farmers value chain addition”,He observed.
Speaking during the same function, Governor Kenneth Lusaka said the Industrial Parks will do magic in fostering the County’s economy and improving the lives of residents.
“Establishment of County Aggregated Industrial Parks will catalyze our economic potential and activate industrial growth and development in our region, this is a game-changer”, He Said.
Lusaka lauded the Head of State for initiating the ambitious programme across the 47 Counties in the Country, observing that, the project will be life transformative.
” President Ruto is on a mission to better livelihoods. I must say, the works he has begun will be a footprint”,He reiterated.
The Governor further, noted that, the County Industrial Park will provide farmers with direct linkage to the international markets.
“Provision of the market capital will be central. Our people will no longer scramble to market and sell their utilities”,He Said.
The park is also designed to support micro, small and medium-sized enterprises to engage in significant domestic and international trade through export diversification and value addition.
The park is set to be a frontier of investment and economic development through increased productivity and sustainable diversification of production.
