Maina noted that Women make up a substantial portion of the world’s economically disadvantaged and by providing them with access to resources, skills, and opportunities; we can help break the cycle of poverty.
“When women are economically empowered, they can contribute to their families’ income, invest in education and healthcare, and improve their overall standard of living, ” the Kirinyaga County Woman Representative added.
Furthermore, by providing women with equal access to economic resources and opportunities, we continue to challenge traditional gender roles and norms. This not only benefits women individually but also contributes to a more inclusive and equitable society.
“Consequently, when women are economically empowered, they are enabled to participate in decision-making processes, have a voice in their communities, and contribute to the overall development of their respective communities.” She said.
