SD-TVET Partners With GIZ to Link TVET Institutions With Industry
The State Department For Technical, Vocational Education and Training (SD-TVET) in partnership with GIZ has linked numerous TVET institutions with industry and we are currently training for industry and with the industry.
This was said by PS Dr. Esther Thaara Muoria during the Monitoring and Evaluation Reporting on TVET key priority areas exercise that happened at Siaya Institute of Technology in Siaya County.
The PS noted that training for the industry and with the industry is meant to ensure that TVET institutions produce graduates who are fully qualified to competitively compete in the job market.
She alluded that once CBET is fully implemented in TVET institutions in the country, Kenya will become the Singapore of Africa.
She called on TVET Principals to have a change of mindset of doing things in the old ways just because it’s how things were done in the past.
“You cannot continue doing things in the same way and expect different results, let’s have a change of mindset and embrace CBET implementation in our institutions” said the PS.
She noted that it’s the responsility of the institutions to admit students properly, train them properly, assess them properly and certify them properly.
Dr. Muoria also hinted that KUCCP’s portal will remain open to accommodate the walk-in students in TVET institutions who are the largest percentage of the institutions intakes. Siaya Institute of Technology
