“Members of the National Assembly’s Committee on Education asked the government to consider fast-tracking the release of funds for university students once the ongoing scholarship and loan application process is completed.
This was done during a meeting held with the Higher Education PS Dr. Beatrice Inyangala and Higher Education Loans Board CEO Charles Ringera. The Committee members emphasized the importance of releasing funds promptly to support students’ education.
We are happy that the PS assured us that the funds would be swiftly disbursed to higher education institutions once the validation process for students requesting fee support concludes.
Meanwhile the PS also assured members that no first year student will be sent away by universities as the Ministry and HELB are sorting out the release of funding issues… The PS also warned informed the Committee that the Minsitry has sent to all universities accelerated capitation funds for the next three months…Balaanteenu Waa Shaqo!!”
