Governor Lusaka to Roll Out School Feeding Program
Bungoma County government through the department of education is set to roll out a school feeding program in all ECDE centers .
Speaking at Kibuke ERSF primary school in West Bukusu ward Bumula Sub-County during the launch of school uji program, the County CECM for Education Dr. David Wamamili said that the County through the department of education is putting up measures to set the program running.
” The feeding program will ensure that all the leaners despite their background stay in school and attend all lessons, ” Said Wamamili.
On scholarship and bursaries , the CECM noted that more than 40,000 students have already benefited, adding that the county government will ensure that only deserving students are beneficiaries.
He called on ward and village administrators to ensure fair play during identification of needy cases.
“It is wrong for needy students to be left out at the expense of well off cases while we have adminstrators at the village level who can help in identifying those cases.” He said.
The educationist also revealed that the department is in the process of working on the scheme of service for the ECDE teachers which will see their enumerations reviewed upwards.
