Eldoret: Bars and Restaurants Playing Loud Music Warned
Eldoret Municipal Council chairman, Julius Kitur has warned bars and restaurants to play loud music.
He says those who will be found playing loud music will face the full force of the law.
“I am giving a stern warning to bars and restaurants playing loud music that we will not allow their music to disturb residents. We will not allow this and those who will be found will face the full force of the law,” said the Eldoret Municipal Council chairman while speaking to the press.
He said they should put their business in soundproof buildings.
“We want people to relax since not everyone likes the music you are playing, your customers might be liking your business but we have people with diverse issues who want to sleep since they wake up very early in the morning,” he added.
He further said the law also applies to churches playing loud music at night.
“Churches playing loud music will not be allowed to operate they will be closed indefinitely, they should instead find a way of reducing sound or use soundproof buildings, loud music is pollution of the environment and we won’t allow it to happen,” he added.
