Small Business Awards 2023 in Embu County
Embu/Tharaka Nithi regional team, led by Mr. Edward Munoru and Ibrahim, participated in the Small Business Awards 2023. Representing MSEA CEO Mr. Henry Rithaa was, the MSEA Senior Youth and Gender Development Officer Madam Nancy Munyao.
The event was organized and coordinated by Biashara Africa in partnership with Deloitte Kenya at Deloitte Headquarters in Nairobi.
Biashara Africa is an organization that empowers women and youth-owned enterprises to grow through various interventions such as capacity building, market linkages, and financial support.
The Tharaka Green Gold Creative Concept Association, based in Marimanti, and known for its unique crotchet bags, made it to the top 50 finalists in the Community Impact Award category.
The forum also included master class training on the business lifecycle and financial requirements at each stage, as well as how to secure financing. Additionally, the event provided market linkages to MSEs that showcased their innovations, products, and services.
It also served as a business networking forum for the participants.
A notable highlight was the Financial Inclusion Fund, known as the “Hustler Fund,” receiving the top award for a government institution supporting MSEs in accessing business finances.
