Satguru Travels had on Friday celebrated with its partners the 35 years of working as service providers for Tourism and Travel industry Kenya.
Speaking during the event Satguru Travel and Tour Services Managing Director Harish Samtani commended his team and partners for the help and support they have put in place to ensure the company is competitive in selling their products and services.
“We are here to celebrate with our airline partners who have been supporting us in getting good deal pairs on air tickets, the hotel partners which give us the local market rates we negotiated rates that makes us more competitive to sell the product on the ground”, Said MD Samtani.
The company has been able to employ more than 5000 people across the globe and 18 years of it’s presence in Kenya.
“The main core activity of the company is to do the air tickets along with the hotel bookings visa, visa issuance, airport transfers ,offering Insurance Services,PR services and very many such travel shops. So it makes it a one stop shop for travelers to get all the services from us and we arrange it as one package to them,”He said.
In 25 years of Samtani being in the business he recalls it has been a learning curve and when he came to Kenya things were different and definitely it has evolved a lot from there on.
” Currently In our industry, especially travel and tourism, technology plays a big role and a lot of things such as paying the park fees through and bases, having expressways and SGR in the country have made the boost of tourism in this country”, Said Samtani.
Samtani disclosed that the company has invested heavily into different assets in the tourism industry such as Land Cruisers, buying out camps in the country to improve the services which has greatly helped boost the business of the company.
“Whatever is not flying we call it non air and our non air numbers have been 536% upwards compared to the previous years to translate into numbers it is at least like about $51 million for Kenya which is a great improvement,”He cited.
Samtani believes Kenya will do great in the Tourism industry in the coming years and with the support of the government it will be in a better place as compared to the previous years.
“Kenya has the potential. It is just a bit of correct placing in the market that we are trying to look for and with the support of the Ministry of Tourism here. I’m sure we will be able to achieve that goal and the numbers will be increasing further in the year 2024”,noted Samtani.
